Trageton blocks are developed for children in preschool and the lower grades of primary school and can, among other things, be seen as a mathematics preparation material.
In block play, it is the large quantity of blocks that is decisive for the possibilities of shape variation, not the shape of the individual blocks.
Arne Trageton
A set of Trageton blocks for preschools consists of 1100 blocks divided into 5 lengths. The dimensions of the blocks are based on the doubling principle where the cross-section is the same; half as thick as wide.
Through playing with the blocks, the children naturally come into contact with mathematical concepts such as geometry, measurement, and counting numbers.
The blocks are made from Swedish untreated birch.
